These days’ cameras can be used as a motion sensor. These are connected to computers and there they are stored. Most people have a motion sensor in order to detect an unauthorized entry. They are mostly used as part of a larger security system.

Infrared motion detectors work because the radiation is longer than that of visible light. It can’t be seen. It does emanate from heat sources, like people and animals.

You can also get motion sensors for outside your home. But they are most often seen inside homes. So that is what most modles are geared towards.
